1. Magazine Design
Premier Bride was my first freelance job back in 1997! It was the job that let me stretch my wings and help me figure out what I wanted to do when I “grew up”. While the styles of both weddings and design have changed, the actual work hasn’t. I am involved from the beginning of production with creating and updating all the ads in our library plus formatting editorial and finding images that work well with the content. Each year, I am also involved in redesigning the overall look of the editorial and providing new featured articles and infographics.
Premier Bride is a National company with a number of local markets. Over the years, local markets have come and gone. I’ve worked with numerous markets including Seattle, California, Texas, New Hampshire, Maine, Detroit, Milwaukee and Northeast/Central Wisconsin. I prepare the books and provide high res files to the printer. I also provide online flip books for the local markets to display on their websites and share with new brides and grooms.
3. Digital Retouching
Fashion shoots are done each year that sometimes require a bit of retouching once they’re received from the photographer. Things like finding clips on the dresses, fixing blemishes, removing tattoos, or things like adding a tie to a suit that didn’t have one or fixing the cuff on one of the groom’s arms are necessary. I have extensive skills in my toolbox to fix photos so they don’t have to be reshot.
4. Web Support
I did not design their existing website but I do help them update and maintain it. I regularly help them with Real Wedding posts in an effort to increase and strengthen the content of their site. I also am the go-to person when they have questions on how to do something on the site since I have an understanding of WordPress and general SEO. It’s a growing area of their business that I hope to expand in the future.
5. E-Newsletter
Each month, we create a newsletter that gets sent out to newly engaged couples. We provide them with links to our latest real weddings and introduce them to many of our vendors available to them when they are planning their wedding. It’s a great resource to drive traffic to both social media and their website.
6. Banners & Show Materials
Bridal Shows are a must in the relationship with future brides and grooms. It’s imperative that they get out in front of them at the very beginning of the planning process and shows are a way to do that. Utilizing our fantastic library of images, we can create fantastic banners to mark the booths at the shows. In addition, I’ve provided design services for other giveaways like bookmarks and created some drawing cards for prizes that they needed.
